Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment students take college courses at any Shasta College campus in person or online and do not pay tuition for classes. Starting in the Spring 2024 term, Concurrently enrolled students do not pay Student Health and Campus fees.

Concurrent Enrollment: What to Expect

When to apply
Students may submit the Concurrent Enrollment Form when the schedule for the semester you are applying goes live. View important dates for upcoming semester(s) at Dates & Deadlines. The Concurrent Enrollment Form can be found by viewing the “Concurrent Enrollment Policy by Grade Level” section of this webpage.

Processing times
Please allow 2-5 business days to process all completed forms. Completed forms are defined as forms that have been fully signed by the student, parent, principal and high school counselor (if applicable).

After your parent signs your one-time special admit/CCAP agreement it will be routed for dual enrollment for processing. If you run into an error accessing the registration form, please allow 24 hours for your parent agreement to be processed. Please allow 2-5 business days for your registration form to be processed. Completed forms are defined as forms that have been fully signed by all required parties.

Importance of complete forms
Completed forms have accurate data entry and have been signed by all required parties. Incomplete forms will not be processed.

Concurrent Enrollment Steps by Grade Level

For High School Students (9th-12th Grade)

Grade status is determined by the student's grade level on the day of registration.

  1. Consult with your parent or guardian and your high school counselor
  2. Apply to Shasta College through CCC Apply (you only need to apply once).
  3. Complete a ONE-TIME parent permission form (also located at the bottom of this webpage. This form will only be required once, and your parent’s permission will remain valid the entirety of your high school career or until revoked in writing by your parent or guardian. This form must be on file for you to fill out the registration form. If you already have a CCAP agreement on file you will not be able to fill out an additional agreement.
  4. Please read and complete this form carefully and check for any typos prior to signing.
  5. The form will now be routed to your parent's email, using the email address you provided on the application.
  6. Parent/Guardian: You will receive an email with a link to create a “Next Gen Dynamic Forms” account. Please check your spam folder if you have not received this email.
  7. Once the parent agreement form is complete fill out the Concurrent Enrollment Form (also located at the bottom of this webpage):
  8. Once the principal has approved the form, it is forwarded to a Shasta College staff member for final review. You will receive an email that their form has been approved and processed and will be able to register for courses through MyShasta on or after your registration date.

If the courses you wish to register for have prerequisites, please make an appointment with a Shasta College counselor for clearance into the course. A copy of your high school transcripts will be used for course placement at the time of your appointment.

NOTE: Students wishing to enroll in English 1A or in a class with an English 1A prerequisite, will be asked to submit a writing sample, and a current high school transcript. A letter of recommendation is helpful but not required. The counselor will look at factors such as cumulative high school GPA to make a determination.

For 8th Grade Students & Below

Students in the 8th grade or below will typically not be eligible to enroll in transfer-level math. Those able to demonstrate superior skills should schedule an appointment with a Shasta College counselor for discussion and clearance. For Special Admit Students Over 18

Grade status is determined by the student's grade level on the day of registration.

  1. Apply to Shasta College through CCC Apply (you only need to apply once).
  2. *IMPORTANT* Please contact ecp@shastacollege.edu with your name, student ID, and DOB so that we can bypass the one-time parent permission requirement for you. If you do not contact us, you will be unable to fill out the concurrent enrollment registration form.
  3. Once we have overridden the parent agreement form requirement you will then be able to fill out the Concurrent Enrollment Form (also located at the bottom of this webpage):
  4. Once the principal or designee has approved the form, it is forwarded to a Shasta College staff member for final review. You will receive an email that their form has been approved and processed and will be able to register for courses through MyShasta on or after your registration date.
